About this role
This role is part of the European Barentz IT team and works as a member of a highly technical Microsoft Cloud team. This role implements, monitors, and maintains Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to computing, storage, network, and security. This role also ensures that the operational activities required to manage and administrate the implemented solutions are documented and executed consistently by other teams to meet security requirements and best practices. Among others, you will:
- Utilize Terraform/Bicep to implement infrastructure as code, ensuring consistent environments across development, staging, and production.
- Proactively monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and production environments to minimize downtime.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of log data, metrics, and traces to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and incidents promptly.
- Advocate for and implement security best practices and proactive risk management strategies across all infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Establish and enforce integration governance policies, standards, and best practices to maintain consistency and reliability across deployments.
- Explore and leverage the latest Azure solutions and features to continually enhance our infrastructure and drive innovation within the organization.
About You
Are you an experienced and ambitious Azure specialist showing analytical thinking, strong initiative, planning skills, and solid but fair judgment? Are you a team player able to prioritize work, learn new concepts and, at times, multitask in a fast-paced environment? Do you enjoy solving technical challenges in complex environments and working with large-scale deployments with skilled professionals from multi-tiered disciplines?
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer using Terraform.
- Strong understanding of integration patterns and technologies, such as Azure Logic App or Azure Function App.
- Experience building highly available, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure that utilizes a variety of technologies and data stores, including private cloud networking topologies on Azure.
- Extensive CI/CD experience in maintenance and deployment automation.
- Relevant professional certifications.
- Fluency in written and verbal English.
- Proficiency with PowerShell.
- Knowledge and practical experience in Advanced Networking including building and supporting local and global networks, ACLs, firewalls, VPN tunnels, and advanced routing.
Knowledge and/or experience of the following is an advantage.
- Cloud Adoption Framework.
- Azure Kubernetes Services.
- Infrastructure as a Code/Bicep template.
- Understanding of and experience with the five pillars of a well-architected framework.
- Familiarity with CIS benchmarks.
- Experience with Hybrid environments.
