About this role

Job Purpose:

Lead local logistics operations, encompassing warehousing, transportation, value-added services, budgeting, and cost control to support service goals and productivity.

Critical results

Ensure the efficient and timely movement, distribution, and storage of supplies and materials among Principals, Barentz/3PL Warehouses, and Customers. Serve as the primary contact for 3PL and transportation providers, responsible for planning loads and routes, creating and executing the logistics budget, and supporting customer service with logistics cost estimates and tailored solutions to meet business needs.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee transport of goods, including deliveries from Principals to Customers, Warehouse to Customers, Value-Added Services, and Returns.
  • Build and maintain effective communication and coordination with logistics partners and the sales support team.
  • Manage contracts with 3PL warehouses and carrier partners.
  • Oversee pallet flow and maintain accurate pallet stock records.
  • Confirm deliveries, and check, and approve transport invoices.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ISO and QA procedures.
  • Track 3PL warehouse and carrier performance against service level agreements.
  • Maintain freight costs within the established matrix and secure incidental carriers as needed.Manage transport documentation for all freight forwarding activities.
  • Ensure departmental KPIs are met consistently.
  • Monitor and analyze warehouse and transport budgets, optimizing costs as needed.

About You

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in logistics or related management roles.
  • Proficient in logistics coordination and transportation, with expertise in policy and strategy implementation for short-term outcomes.
  • Manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments.
  • Problems faced are difficult to moderately complex.
  • Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices, and procedures
  • Fluent in English and Dutch.

  • Leadership and communication skills, adept at problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong sales and service orientation with an eye for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with logistics/supply chain management software, ERP, and CRM systems.
