About this role

Job Purpose

The primary responsibility is ensuring a robust and efficient consolidation process. More broadly this role will support Corporate Controlling in all its responsibilities and deliverables. This role creates transparency in the performance of Barentz Group companies, through standardized financial / KPI reports, will train finance managers to improve the quality of reporting, and will report to and be the right hand of the Financial Reporting & Consolidation Manager. 

Tasks and responsibilities

Manage a highly disciplined monthly reporting and consolidation process in a global company for 100+ legal entities.

  • Instruct and support Finance professionals in 70+ countries in the monthly reporting cycle.
  • Maintenance and improvement of the consolidation system (supported by Vena/Fluence) and its integration in Power BI.
  • Provide support to international finance teams on complex accounting topics and how to report in a consolidation system.
  • Review monthly reporting packages for completeness and accuracy and ensure a proper feedback loop aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Supporting the onboarding of newly acquired entities under the application of the Barentz accounting manual.
  • Manage the intercompany reconciliation process.
  • Integration of acquired entities within the group consolidation & reporting structure.
  • Preparation of the group annual report and quarterly (lender) statements.
  • Support the external audit and communication with the group auditors.
  • Participate in projects regarding improvements in the accounting, reporting, and consolidation processes and tools.
  • Ensure internal controls are in place and working effectively for key financial processes.
  • Identify and drive process improvements.
  • Take on ad-hoc projects in Corporate Finance Scope.

Critical results

  • Design, maintain, and improve consolidation and reporting processes: Clear timelines and expectations; Robust input templates; Communication with finance managers across the Group (70+ countries).
  • Accurate, complete,e and timely reporting, following the Barentz Accounting & Reporting Manual.
  • Support Corporate financial planning processes from a systems perspective.
  • Support initiatives with a Corporate Finance Scope, including support for Tax, HR, and ESG (with separate modules in the consolidation system).

About You

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in a consolidation team in a complex international environment.
  • Good working knowledge of IFRS.
  • Power BI expertise is a plus.
