After the foundation of Barentz Service S.p.A. in 2005 the company has successfully built a sustainable portfolio of ingredients, that meets customer demand in the Italian life sciences and performance materials ingredients markets. In October 2020, Barentz acquired Sevecom S.p.A., established in 1978 and well known for its international role in the Animal Nutrition market, delivering emulsifiers, additives, and raw materials for the feed industry and for livestock breeding. Both companies share operational services within the Barentz Italy office near Milano.

In 2023 the company officially rebranded to Barentz Italia after further alignment with the international Barentz portfolio and operations. Barentz in Italy is well known for its robust quality management and its high standards in ESG management, holding a gold Ecovadis rating.

Sevecom is a 100% Barentz company and well known for its range of technological additives for the animal feed industry and their knowledge of and facilities for technical support for their applications. Sevecom offers registered and patented products for the Italian market, but also in Europe, Asia, and North America. Sevecom has a ISO 9001-2015 certification and is GMP+ compliant.
